Spring Break in NYC!

Spring

The trees are blooming, the days are getting longer, and the winter that seemed like it'd never be over is now behind us. It's time to get out for Spring Break and start enjoying things for a week or so! Forget Florida or any of the other cliché' Spring Break destinations, there are plenty of things to do right here in New York City. Here's a brief rundown:

· Get out on the water. You can take a boat to the Statue of Liberty, or book a boat tour. Jump on the Circle Line and you can get on a sightseeing cruise that lasts anywhere from 75 minutes to three hours. The Full Island package gives you great postcard-worthy views of the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Chrysler Building, Ellis Island and Yankee Stadium.

· Check out the city's green spaces. There's much more than just Central Park – head to new York Botanical Garden, where the Orchid Show takes place, or the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. There's Marine Park in Brooklyn, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Boardwalk, the Staten Island Greenbelt and much more to explore!

· There's festivals of all kinds going on in early spring, such as Fleet Week, the Easter Parade, Macy's Flower Show, the Tribeca Film Festival and (of course) the opening of baseball season! And there's parades, like the Falun Gong parade, the Albanian parade or the Dance Parade, which takes you through the entire history of dancing, from African tribes to the modern day.

· Enjoy a movie outdoors at Bryant Park's film series, on the lawn of the New York Public Library. Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner to take in some classic films with your friends. You can also check out the Rooftop Films series, which alternates locations around the city, or see a movie at Central Park or Riverside Park south pier.

· Enjoy the fresh air at one of the many outdoor restaurants around the city – especially the “Frying Pan” light-boat docked at Pier 66. You can meet people, hear music, eat to your heart's content and watch the sun go down over the Hudson River!

· If you love flea markets, there's the Brooklyn Flea, Green Flea, The Market and Hell's Kitchen's antique garage.

There's so much to see and do in our big, beautiful city year-round, and springtime is the perfect time to do it. At 106 St Tire, we want you to be safe and not have to worry about your car for any road trips or travel around NYC...so make an appointment with us!
