Here is a general guide to the various types of tires:

Passenger, Performance and Touring Tires:
Passenger All-Season
A durable, comfortable, good handling and quiet ride that’s affordable and gives year-round traction (can handle light snow, however, they leave something to be desired in steering response of performance or touring tires)
Extreme Performance (summer only)
Sacrifice some hydro-planning resistance, comfort & tread depth to get a first-rate dry road response, traction and handling for those who get serious about driving.
Max Performance (summer only)
These tires provide superior dry and wet traction along with good handling and high-speed capabilities thanks to technological advances in tire design.
Ultra High Performance (all-season or Summer)
No trouble providing quick steering response and high-speed ability while giving stable cornering and good traction on wet or dry pavement.
High Performance (all-season or summer)
Steering responsiveness and stable handling for both dry and wet road conditions.
Performance All-Season
This tire provides a better looks, ride and handling than passenger all-season tires.
Grand Touring (all-season or summer)
Mixes many qualities of a performance tire's good looking appearance along with responsive handling while adding a more passenger friendly, soft, quiet ride.
Standard Touring All-Season
Lower speed ratings plus taller aspect ratio sizes than those above and greater importance is placed on ride comfort and tread-wear.

SUV,CUV, and Light Truck Tire :

Street/Sport Truck (all season or summer only)
Improves vehicle handling as well as aesthetics when replacing original dealer tires; a low profile tire with large rim diameter sizes while providing good handling and traction.
Highway Rib (summer only)
Developed for highway use, this straight rib tread provides good even wear and traction on dry and wet roads along with a quiet ride.
Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season
Classy, stylish & comfortable tire with all-season, on-road traction combining function/fashion for sport utility vehicles, upscale cross-overs or luxury pickups trucks.
Highway All-Season
A good on-road performance tire featuring small independent tread blocks for good traction on gravel roads, in sand and moderate snow.
On/Off Road All Terrain
With versatile tread blocks & off-road/on-road capabilities this tire delivers traction from any direction on dirt, sand, gravel and snow.
On/Off Road Commercial Traction
Aggression in tire tread design can utilize these heavy-duty tires with off-road traction; highly desirable on loose, gravel, muddy or snowy surfaces such as job and recreation sites.
Off-Road Maximum Traction
Traction "taken to the max" on loose or muddy surfaces with the emphasis on off-road travel. Some recent designs have been made for highway travel too.
